Тема «В гостинице»

Цель: формирование общих компетенций при изучении темы «В гостинице»

Задачи:

Образовательная.

Ознакомить с лексикой

по теме «В гостинице» и активизировать ее употребление в речи;

совершенствовать умения и навыки практического владения английским языком

(монологической и диалогической речи, навыки чтения, говорения, аудирования, письма).

2. Формировать информационные компетенции через презентации и работу с текстом.

Развивающая.

1. Развивать коммуникативные навыки и умения в процессе общения на английском языке,

тренировать в употреблении лексики по теме.

1. Развивать умения правильно заполнить гостиничный бланк, ответить на вопросы

администратора гостиницы, расширить страноведческие сведения студентов о гостиницах в

Британии.

2. Развивать навыки парной, групповой, фронтальной работы; развивать языковые,

интеллектуальные и творческие способности студентов.

Воспитательная

1. Формировать общие компетенции: ОК 2. Организовывать собственную деятельность,

выбирать типовые методы и способы выполнения профессиональных задач, оценивать их

эффективность и качество; ОК 3. Принимать решения в стандартных и нестандартных

ситуациях и нести за них ответственность; ОК 4. Осуществлять поиск и использование

информации, необходимой для эффективного выполнения профессиональных задач,

профессионального и личностного развития; ОК 5. Использовать информационно-

коммуникационные технологии в профессиональной деятельности; ОК 6. Работать в коллективе

и в команде, эффективно общаться с коллегами, руководством, потребителями.

2. Способствовать созданию положительной мотивации к изучению иностранного языка;

стимулировать студентов к работе в коллективе (группе); создавать условия для формирования

у студентов личностных качеств: самостоятельность, трудолюбие, творчество, культура

мышления.

3. Воспитывать понимание важности темы «В гостинице», ответственности за свое поведение

при выезде и пребывании в чужой стране, коммуникабельность и чувство толерантности.

Тип урока. Комбинированный.

Вид урока. Урок-практикум.

Методы. Беседа по вопросам, парная работа, презентация, создание ситуаций познавательного

характера, объяснительно-иллюстрированный, частично-поисковый метод.

Методы работы преподавателя - организаторский, обучающий, контролирующий,

стимулирующий.

Методы работы обучающихся – самостоятельная работа, упражнения.

Способы организации деятельности преподавателя и студентов: фронтальный,

индивидуальный, парный, коллективный.

Материально-техническое обеспечение урока. Компьютер, интерактивная доска,

раздаточный материал (тест по грамматике «Passive Voice», текст «Hotel», гостиничные бланки,

текст песни «Blue Hotel»), презентации, методическая разработка занятия.

Ход урока

І. Организационный момент. Психолого – педагогический настрой группы.

a) Мотивация к учебной деятельности. Приветствие:

Teacher: Good morning, students!

Students: Good morning, teacher!

Teacher: Take your seats and get ready for the lesson. I am glad to see you today. How are you?

Students: We are fine, thanks.

b) Речевая зарядка:

Teacher: Tell me, please, who is on duty today? What date is it today? What day of the week is it

today? Who is absent today? What was your independent work for today?

Student: I am on duty today. Today is the 29

of March. Today is Friday. All are present. Our

independent work was to prepare the presentations about hotels.

Teacher: Dear students, we have a lot of guests at our lesson today. They are teachers from our

college. I hope, you are in a good mood today and our work will be useful and productive. I wish you

to be active, don’t be shy.

c) Постановка темы, целей, и выдвижение учебно - познавательной гипотезы (задачи):

Teacher: Look at the screen. We are going to watch a short video right now and I hope - then you can

guess the topic of our today’s lesson. Студенты смотрят отрывок из видео и догадываются о теме

урока. Alone at home

Students: The topic of our lesson today is “At the hotel”.

Teacher: You are right. At our lesson today we’re going to speak about hotels. You will learn new

words, new interesting facts, improve your speaking, listening skills and grammar, learn how to book a

hotel room and to check in at the hotel. I decided to take this theme because I consider it is very up-to-

date and our lesson will help you in your future.

Teacher: Now let’s revise our previous material.

1. I’ll tell you the words and word-combinations in Russian and you are to say them in English.

Teacher: Well done. We’ve revised our grammar material and now I’d like to ask you some

questions.

1. Do you like to travel? – Yes, I do.

2. Have you ever traveled abroad? - No, I haven’t. Yes, I’ve been to Turkey (Italy…)

3. Would you like to go abroad? - Yes I’d like to.

4. Would you like to go there again or visit any other country? - Yes I’d like to.

5. What language are you going to speak there? – English.

6. Why? - Because English is an international language and it is known all over the world.

7. Are you sure you will be able to check in at the hotel properly? – No, I’m not sure.

Students answer the teacher’s questions.

Teacher: All right, but how can we settle at the hotel?

First of all you have to find a hotel, to register at the reception, to ask about the services there but

remember that you are a representative of a great country, your behavior, your adaptation and your

English is very important for you. It’s very important to choose a hotel and to book a room. And what I

want is to check your home task. You had to prepare the presentations about the hotels. Let’s begin.

III. Формирование новых понятий и способов действий.

1. Работа с новыми словами и текстом.

Teacher: The next step is reading. Let’s work with the text. But at first, please, watch the video, listen

and repeat the words and expressions. Mind your pronunciation and intonation. While watching, try to

recognize a person, who is very famous nowadays. Студенты смотрят видео, записывают слова.

Alone at home.

Can you answer my question? Have you recognized the president of the USA Donald Trump?

Teacher: Well, now read the text and find the sentences where the verb is in the Passive Voice, they

are three in the text.

Students read, understand the text and find the sentences with the Passive Voice in the text.

1. Every year more and more new hotels are opened.

2. Besides, you don't need to serve yourself, everything will be done by the hotel staff, I find it

wonderful.

3. More than that, I do like that in the hotel you can be offered some interesting excursions and you

can be sure that they are safe because the hotel is responsible for every offer.

Teacher:

I see you are tired. Let’s have a rest. Let’s do physical exercise. Be ready. Stand up.

3. Тренировка навыков аудирования с целью понимания общего содержания

прослушанного текста (Develop your Listening Skills). Студенты знакомятся со словами и

выражениями, прослушивают текст. Слабые пересказывают прослушанный текст на русском

языке, что они поняли, а более сильные отвечают на вопросы по прослушанному тексту.

Hotels in England are of some categories. Luxe Hotels are the most expensive. Only Arabian sheikhs &

millioners can afford themselves staying in such hotels. The following category is Charming Town

House, which combine an excellent service and low price.

The next category are cheap hotels located near big railway stations. The forth are Boarding Houses and

Bed and Breakfast and countryside inns.

The cheapest variant are Youth Hostels & Youth Holiday Centres. Staying at a hotel is much more

expensive in the USA and Canada. Big hotels are located in the centres of cities or towns. There are

some companions which own a net of hotels & restaurants for example “Hilton” & “ Sheraton”. If you

have a vehicle it’s better and cheaper for you to stay at motels.

Guests who are going to stay at a hotel are met by hotel personnel.

Manager – the main person at a hotel. He is responsible for everyday activity.

Reception clerk – a hotel worker who receives new guests and gives them accommodation doing all the

formalities.

Porter – a hotel worker whose duty is to help the visitors with their luggage.

Chambermaid – a hotel worker who keeps bedrooms in order and does some laundry for the guests.

Bell-boy – a hotel worker who shows the guests his or her room and fulfill other duties.

Answer the questions.

IV. Применение знаний и формирование умений и навыков. Диалогическая речь.

Teacher: And now is the next task. Imagine you want to reserve a room in one of the London’s hotel.

You’ll see a video about checking in the hotel and your task is to try to make up dialogues. One of you

will be a Receptionist and the other one - a guest. You can also show a short scene of your dialogues.

Студенты просматривают видео, знакомятся со словами и выражениями и стараются составить

диалоги.

Here are some words and expressions for making up the dialogues.

I’d like to check in. How long are you going to stay?

You have a reservation for single room. What’s the price of the room?

All right, what is your name? A double room for two nights

You are welcome. Please, fill out the blank.

I booked a room last week for my family and myself. Do you have a reservation with us?

Is there fridge and bar in the room? 75 dollars per night.

I made a reservation by phone last night. Your room is number 17.

I’d like to book a single room. Can I help you?

I hope you’ll find the room comfortable.

Teacher: Thanks, Let’s go on. To check in the hotel you’ll have to fill in the registration form. Now let’s

try to do this kind of work. Here are the forms; they are given both in English and in Russian, try to fill

them only in English.

Teacher: And our last task is to fill in the gaps in the text of Chris Isaac’s song.
